Paul's story
Paul's attachment disorder was creating tension & conflict within the family. Paul, age 10, started coming to our Shelter Services program one weekend a month to give he and his family a break.

Paul's foster parents, Sue & Tony, enjoyed taking him for hikes & bike rides. In 6 months, Paul's behavior had stabilized, increasing his family's confidence. Sue & Tony found their time with Paul rewarding, and were pleased to have helped him find healthier outlets for his feelings.

Shelter Services Program
Ages 6-17, for 1-120 days
Our Shelter Services program offers short term foster care to youth ages 6-17. These are kids who are either on respite from their ongoing foster parents or need respite care due to their own or their parent's mental health issues.

Kids being served by this program do require 24/7 supervision by their foster parents and may present varying needs. Foster parents can identify gender and age preferences for the youth they would like to serve.
Paul Words from our Foster Program Staff
Knowing that I have the knowledge & ability to help youth change the direction of their lives in a positive manner gives me much self-satisfaction. It is a mutually gratifying relationship.

These kids are unique, with so much potential. They come from tough backgrounds, but leave our program with a sense of self & hope for the future. I feel this growth is the greatest reward for the work we do.
