Tina's Story
At age 13, Tina bravely disclosed her mother's alcoholism & abuse to her school counselor. Tina was blaming herself, and feeling helpless. Further inquiries determined that Tina's mother needed help in order to end her addiction and better her parenting skills.

Tina was placed with Rita, a single female foster parent caring for girls through our STEP program. Tina attended the on-site school and spent weekends & evenings with Rita, cooking new recipes or taking long walks. In 2 months, Rita was thrilled to see Tina's self-esteem rise and her mother graduate from treatment.
