Attachment Theory for Adoptive, Foster & Step Families
Building attachment with your current or future child is essential to stabilizing the family in the short and long-term. Successful parents benefit from understanding how the attachment dynamic functions in all relationships, especially the one they have with their children.
Boys & Girls Aid offers this engaging, fast-paced and child-focused training to parents and caregivers seeking to strengthen their parenting and find more opportunities for connection with their children.
In this training, participants will:
Learn about adult attachment styles
Build concrete skills in enhancing attachments for adopted children
Understand behaviors through an attachment lens
This training is delivered by Leah Brookner, PhD, MSW, MA, Assistant Professor of Practice at Portland State University.
