Have a youth in need of a permanency resource?

We can help.

If you are an ODHS caseworker for a youth in need of permanency, our Family Permanency Services team can support you. We provide Child Focused Recruitment for youth who do not have an identified permanent resource and for whom it may be challenging to find one.

Our Model

  • Based on research showing that it is beneficial to youth to be placed with a relative or someone they already have a relationship with, we focus on searching within the child's current and past network for a permanency resource.

  • If a resource is not located within a youth's network, we can also assist with general recruitment.

  • We meet with youth monthly to understand who they are and what they need in a placement.

  • In addition to searching for a resource, we do permanency preparation work with youth, so they are better equipped to transition to permanent placement.

  • Once a resource is located, we stay involved in the case until finalization as a support to the youth and resource family.

Eligibility

  • We cover the entire state of Oregon.

  • We serve any youth with a primary or concurrent plan of adoption or guardianship.

  • We work with youth of all ages (0 to 18, but primarily 9 and older).
