Meet Our Youth Speaker
Water Frison
Water is a 19‑year‑old aspiring hairstylist and cosmetology student living in Boys & Girls Aid’s Compass program for youth transitioning out of foster care. She’s excited to share her experiences and tell the story of how the support of her community is empowering her to build the confidence and skills she needs to thrive.

Award‑winning journalist, TV personality, and content creator, Nicole DeCosta is known throughout the Portland area as a host and contributor on KOIN 6 and Portland’s CW. We can’t wait to welcome Nicole to the stage as our host at this year’s Foster Love Gala.

Ian Lindsay
We're excited to welcome back auctioneer Ian Lindsay to lead the fundraising activities at this year’s Foster Love Gala! A seasoned philanthropic event auctioneer, host, and entertainer, Ian has shared his expertise at hundreds of non-profit events nationwide - including past Foster Love Galas.
Donnie & Aprilla McPherson
Donnie and Aprilla McPherson have been foster parents for nearly 13 years — including more than a decade fostering with Boys & Girls Aid.
We are honored to be presenting them with the inaugural Boys & Girls Aid Fostering Futures Award at this year's Foster Love Gala, in celebration of the lasting impact they have made and continue to make on the lives of children in foster care.

We’re kicking off the Foster Love Gala celebration early with a special Silver Ticket Raffle for two main cabin round-trip tickets on Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines to destinations in North America, Central America, or Hawai’i!
Silver Ticket Raffle entries are available to purchase online only now through Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 5 p.m. PDT. Entries are $50 each and only 500 tickets will be sold!
The winner will be announced via livestream from the Sentinel hotel on Friday, May 15, 2026, at 3 p.m. on Boys & Girls Aid’s Instagram account (@bgaid).
